VA Tech Graduation!

I know, it's been ages since I've posted! I have decided I am the worst blogger ever, so you will just have to bear with me and stick with me!

It's been kind of busy around here! On May 6 we made the 8-hour round trip to bring Jeremy home from his first year at Radford University. It was a long day, but we made it, and it's good having him home.

Then this past weekend was Tim's graduation from VA Tech! So we made the trek back to southern VA, but this time we stayed for the weekend. So much better! Tim had the university-wide ceremony on Friday night. We had a little picnic near the parking lot beforehand, then went to the stadium. A storm was pending, but luckily it held off until after graduation!

Here is a picture of the graduate, right before we went to the stadium.

And here is a picture of the happy family!

This is the VT football stadium, which is where the big ceremony was held on Friday night, May 14. They were expecting 5,000 graduates that night. And no, they did not call out all the names, thank goodness! A speech was given by the governor of VA, Bob McDonnell, and it was actually not too bad. You know how those politicians can sometimes be long-winded! My husband, Bob, was sure he heard a speech that went like this: "Get a good job, make lots of money, and send it to VA Tech!

This is a picture of the Business School ceremony, which was held in the coliseum on Saturday morning. And yes, this time they did read all the names, all 842 of them! It wasn't too bad, the whole thing only took 2 hours, and Tim was texting us the whole time! He was in the 3rd row, on the side closest to us, so we had a great view of him. We were sitting kind of towards the back of the stage.

And here he is, getting his diploma - hurray! I already have the fancy frame for it! Can you tell I'm just a little proud?!

And here we are again, after the ceremony, the very proud parents! It was a great weekend!

So after that, guess where Tim wanted to go for his celebratory meal - IHOP! Okay, if that's what you want, that's what you shall have! So we went to IHOP and had pancakes! And here I was worried about trying to get into a nice restaurant!
We spent the rest of the weekend moving all his stuff out of his apartment, and then cleaning the place. What a job that was! And now, all the junk has exploded in my house - it's everywhere! But that's okay. Tim will be living at home for a little while, and thankfully he has been offered a very good job, right here in our town. Things are great!
So, that is why I haven't been blogging! But I hope to get back to it very soon. I do have some things to show you, so keep checking back!
