Some Easter Projects for You

I'm finding it hard to believe that Easter is just around the corner! I want to show you two Easter cards. It's great being able to break out the Spring colors again!

This card was done by Toni as a swap for my demonstrator (downline) meeting. This is the card that made me buy "Chocolate Bunny"! It just cracked me up. I know it's not your traditional Easter card, but who can resist taking a bite out of a chocolate bunny? Not me...

Here is your more traditional Easter card. This was the second project we did at Stamp Camp this month. The front of the card was embossed using the Finial Press folder and the Big Shot. The butterflies were done with the Beautiful Wings embosslit. The border was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch from the Sale-A-Bration mini catalog. (By the way, SAB ends on March 31, so if you want any of the "about to retire" SAB free stuff, now is the time to order!) I stamped the greeting and punched it out with the Wide Oval punch. We don't have another oval punch big enough to layer underneath that one, so I just punched two scallop ovals and used them together as a layer. Yes, there were a lot of steps to this card, but it was worth it!

Cards For Kids!

Oh my goodness! I just looked at my last post and it was a very long time ago! I didn't realize I had been gone that long. So much for being better about posting... But I just took a bunch of pictures of some new projects, so I have lots to show you. I will spread it out over a few days!

But first, I want to tell you about a blog called "Cards For Kids". It was started by 2 of my friends, Jen and Essel. They have formed a non-profit organization to fund scholarships for kids in Africa. Jen has traveled to Africa and came home with a feeling that she wanted to do something to help the kids there. (You can read about her travels on her personal blog at http://jenbuilds.wordpress.com/) So she and Essel decided to create handmade cards and sell them, donating the profits to a scholarship fund. You can view their gallery and blog at http://www.cards4kids2009.com/. They have a gallery of a huge assortment of cards to purchase, and you can buy online.

I have to tell you, Jen and Essel are two of my favorite people, and this just solidifies how special they are! Please go check out their blog and help them make the scholarships a success!
Okay, here is an Easter project that we did at Stamp Camp this month...

It's a little basket made with the #2 Box on the Big Shot. You just cut off the lid, and it's now a basket! The handles are done with the Scallop Oval frame die. Too easy! The adorable chick is from the "A Good Egg" set - isn't he cute? And inside the basket is a little bag of pastel-colored jelly beans. This was a huge hit!

Little Chick Card

Yep, I'm finally back! I've been busy with my Birthday Card class, and then I had Stamp Camp and my downline meeting this week, plus I've really been trying to devote a lot of time to scrapbooking! Something has to give, and I guess it's my blog!

I want to show you this adorable "chick" card made by Toni. Using mostly punches, and paper piecing, she came up with this cute idea! So I just wanted to share!
