These are the 2 cards we did at my most recent Stamp Club meetings. I call it my "Technique & Template" Stamp Club, because we always do a new technique, plus both cards use the same design template. It's a good way to show that just by changing the colors and stamp sets, you can get a totally different look. The technique this month was "Bleaching". It had been ages since I'd done bleaching, and it's really a lot of fun! And so easy.
The best way is to emboss your line image with black EP. Then you bleach inside the embossed lines. I use a fine tip paint brush and dip it directly into the straight bleach, then paint it onto the card stock. Give it a chance to dry, or heat set it. You can always go back over it again if you missed a spot or two. On the top card, I just left the card stock as is, and what you see is how it bleached out. You should usually test your card stock, as different colors will bleach out in different shades (sometimes not too pretty!). On the second card I used markers to color in the bleached out areas. The card stock needs to be really dry for this to work the best. So I bleached the bird and the flower, then filled the images in with markers. Love it!
So sorry it's taken me such a long time to post since my last entry! We've been on Spring Break, and I took my middle son, who's a Junior in high school, on a "Virginia College Tour". We covered many miles, visited 4 schools, and it just about did me in! I'm really beginning to think that we are making things much too comfortable around here, as his current plan seems to be to just live at home and let me wait on him for the rest of his life! I recently asked him where he sees himself in 10 years, and he said "the basement"! Should I worry?

These are just beautiful!!
Those both turned out well! I get discouraged bleaching because, as you mentioned, sometimes it's not too pretty.
I love that cute bird!
